The town with population of over 3,000 inhabitants and over five hundred houses, according to findings is now sitting on a keg of gun powder, as supremacy tussle over who controls the community rages.

AfricanOutlookonline further findings also revealed factional documents were been presented by the two controversial village heads to buttress their claims and equally have support of two traditional rulers in the state, who separately issued certificate of authorities for them to run the affairs of the community.

Similarly, the factional village heads, Chiefs Asamu Adegbola and Segun Ogunsola now operate affairs of the community founded some years back, from their various palaces, with the support of their choice palace lieutenants.

It was also uncovered that a certificate empowering Adegbola was endorsed by Traditional Ruler of Imala, Oba Adelani Olabode and signed on October 26, 2006, while that of Ogunsola was issued to him by another Royal father, the Agura of Gbagura, Oba Halidu Laloko dated January 26, 2015.

The ugly development has also resulted into petition and counter petition with the factions, alleging each other of impersonation, attempted murder and kidnapping as obtained by our correspondent.

The traditional ruler of Imala who installed Adegbola in his remark, maintained and insisted that he (Adegbola) remain the authentic village head, while his colleague, Agura of Gbagura who installed Ogunsola also declared that, he (Ogunsola) remain the righful village head.

When our correspondent visited the village, further findings also revealed that youths in the town have equally taken sides in the heart breaking situation, as counter threat is spreading like wildfire in the community, which recently led to alleged abduction of some of them and subsequent recovery of dangerous weapons.

A faction village, Asamu Adegbola while speaking with newsmen declared that he is the authentic community head having been installed since 2006, stressing that Ogunsola was just impersonating and is being aided by some forces to impose him on the community.

His words: "I am the authentic head of Olorunda community and this can be attested to with my certificate shown to you. I was chosen and accepted by the community and installed by Amala of Imala, Oba Adelani Olabode who is the constituted and prescribed authority to installed Baale."

His counterpart in the tussle, Chief Segun Ogunsola in his own reaction declared to newsmen that there was no going back on his position as the authentic village head, adding that his call to lead the community was divine, stressing that his opponent remained a fake village head.

He also claimed that his late father was the former village head before his demise in 2011, but the other party faulted his claim, saying the deceased only made attempts to be the village head, a move which they said was unconstitutional and therefore failed.

However, Ogunsola explained that as much as he cherish peace, he would be party to any peace talk at a round table discussion, pointing out that he is the rightful occupier of the seat, but would not fold his arm and be robbed of his rights, because of his passion for the developmental growth of the community.

Hear him: "Let me tell you this, my coming as the village head is divine and supported by the entire community. I was selected through normal traditional process, and my mission is to turn around the community for better in the interest of all."

However, the certificate issued to Adegboola by Omola of Imala as the authorised village head reads, "Certificate of Cheiftaincy: In exercise of my power as the prescribed authority for Imalaland, Oke Ogun of Abeokuta North Local Government, I Oba (Apostle) Moses Adelani Adegboyega Olabode, Omola of Imalaland, Odunfa II, hereby approve the appointment of Chief Sabiu Ashamu Adegboola as the Bale of Olorunda, Oke Ogun with effect from 28th October, 2006.

Similarly, a letter of appointment issued to Olusegun Ogunsola by Agura of Gbagura reads, "Gbagura Chieftaincy Community Abeokuta: Certificate of Chieftaincy title, This is to certify that Chief Olusegun Phillips Ogunsola has been conferred with the title of Baale of Olorunda Village, Oke Ogun, Gbagura Community in Abeokuta North on 26th January, 2015 at the Agura palace."

The Ogun State Goverment in reaction through a letter from Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, a copyof which was made available to our correspondent cautioned the two factions, and also instructed their sponsored traditional rulers to put a stop to the controversial installations.

The letter with reference number CHM/1/47/T6/158 and signed by J. M Fabi, Director of Chieftaincy Affairs, said, "In the meantime, Kabiyesi Alayeluwa is humbly implored to put on hold any plan to appoint or install Baale in Olorunda Community, Abeokuta North Local Government."

Truth cannot be hidden forever. I think the state Government urgently need to set up a pernel of enquiry to investigate the happenings in oke Ogun generally. To put straight, with all sincerity to everybody the Omala of imala since assumption to the thrown in 2005 has created several problems not only in Olorunda but many other villages in his domain.
The Kabiyesi has displayed a lot of arrogancies and power drunk among his own council of Chiefs and that of other villages.
Permit me to tell the world that lack of education and assesibility to govt have kept the pple of Oke- Ogun in a position of soffering and smiling since the present Omala came on board.

Finally, if the Stete government can consistute an open interrogation forum for all stake holders of affected villages and Omala himself, it is my believe that a lot will be discovered and that will set a pace for final settlement of happenings in that area.
Thank you and God bless Ogun state.
