By AfricanOutlook Reporter

Former Special Adviser to the President on Women Affairs, during ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo's tenure and founding member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief (Mrs) Titilayo Ajanaku at the weekend declared that she has quit the party to revive Peoples Democratic Movement (PDM).

Ajanaku made this known while speaking with newsmen at the Ogun State Secretariat of the People Democratic Movement(PDM)located at Olomore in Abeokuta, shortly after the election of new executive for the party in the state.

The known politician recalled that Peoples Democratic Movement, PDM, which she was a founding member, was an offshoot of Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), before the former was later registered as a political party with Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC), but lamented that somewhere along the line, PDP derailed from its
genuine policies.

She pointed out and declared that the derailment of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), chieftains made her to retrace her steps and decide to return to People Democratic Movement, (PDM), to revive it,adding that there was no going back on the decision.

Her words 'Yes, I am part of PDP foundation and the PDM was its offshoot, before it was later registered as political party with INEC, but what we found that in PDP in the last few years is contrary to what PDP was formed to achieve, many undemocratic things going on,everybody just doing what he likes."

Ajanaku emphasised that this development was her reason to return to People Democratic Movement, (PDM),to revive it ahead of 2019, stressing that the party is set to put smiles on the faces of Nigerians, while structures will be established across the country in due course allowing people to know more about the party.

'The party is set to put smiles on faces of Nigerians. We want people to know more about PDM, and structures are being put in places across the country. This is a disciplined party and one family and my role is to ensure things work well',Ajanaku stressed.

On her advice for the newly elected executive of the party in the state,Ajanaku, said they should inject discipline, follow party's constitution strictly and also attract more members for the betterment of the party across the nooks and crannies.
