Ogun State Chapter of the Inter Party Advisory Council of Nigeria, (IPAC), a group of registered political parties, Tuesday advised any aggrieved party or its members in the just concluded governorship and state assembly elections in the state to go to court.

The Council gave the option at a press conference held at Iwe-Iroyin Press Centre, Abeokuta, addressed by the chairman, Biola Martins with declaration that, the elections were free and fair from the council’s opinion and assessment.

At the press conference were the Governorship Candidates of Citizen Popular Party, (CPP), United Democratic Party, (UDP), Alliance for Democracy, (AD), Hope Democratic Party, (HDP), Mega Progressives Party, (MPP), New Nigerian Peoples Party, (NNPP), United Progressives Party, (UPP), and the Advance Congress Democrats, (ACD).

"We call here today as a body which aggregates the view of all registered political parties to give our own opinion and assessments of the just concluded state elections, that is the Governorship and State House of Assembly elections held on April 11, 2015. We are indeed happy to report to you that the election went on peacefully, without any violence," Martins said.

The group declared further that, it agreed with and abide by the election results, which saw the sitting governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun of All Progressives Congress, (APC), re-elected, and posited that there would always be another day for all contestants who did not win, to test their popularity.

"The results, particularly for the governorship poll reflect the strength of the respective parties. We therefore call on parties to display maturity and demonstrate their democratic credentials by accepting the results and openly conceding to the winner.

"IPAC also congratulate the winner of the Governorship election, Governor Amosun and his party, the All Progressives Congress(APC) and we call on them to embrace all the other contestants and other rival parties. They should run an all inclusive government. The governor should extend the hand of fellowship to other contestants and other members of the other political parties," the group declared.
